about about about
Hello my name is Frederick Wolfe, a young aspiring filmmaker fighting everyday to tell solid and honest stories. My name isn’t the one given to me at birth, but one that I grew into through the circumstances of life. I was born in Mexico City, Mexico and was raised in the Southwest and Northwest territories of the United States; Tucson, Arizona and Corning, New York respectively. I’ve traveled from place to place due to the voyage my father has endured based on his work as a mechanical and optical engineer. I’m a family man, raised on the values bestowed upon me by parents. Their selfless attitude and sacrifice has shown me that everyday heroes do exist. As a second-generation immigrant, I’ve endured some beautiful as well as horrific experiences; my parents’ teaching me that resiliency is a necessary human condition. Through a voyage of color and character, I’ve managed to retain the stories that have shaped my life and create my character. I write without reservations, tossing my good and bad qualities vicariously into a script.
As an aspiring professional artist, I reside in Toronto, Canada and have lived and loved every part of the country that is now my home. I’m a proud Torontonian, an even prouder Canadian, yet I’m truly humbled and blessed to be able to also call myself a Mexican. The principles and the honesty that I try and tattoo my work with are based on the pride I have in my roots, past and present. I believe that the integrity of my artwork is not solely connected on the authenticity of my material, but through the quality by which I try and live my life. I love my life, I love my family, I love my friends, and I love Toronto, the big city sleeping. Canada has a perspective and it doesn’t need to be corralled, our stories and our artist transcend both borders and nationalities. I try and govern my life based on a code that keeps me humble and respectful. As the great Beatles once said, “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”
I’m a true dreamer, hopeful that the world can change and that the power of love can fix problems. I try to be a selfless individual and I push myself to lead through example. I enjoy inspiring people to believe in themselves, pushing people to reach for the professionalism and quality of work that sets Frederick Cineasta Wolfe apart. I’ve trained for 4 years at York University in the B.F.A. Film Production Honors program; at York I spent most of my time sponging as much wisdom and information as humanly possible from the quality professors who have inspired me to be better. I’ve written, directed, and acted in short films; I’ve been a crewmember of every proportion and have learned great humility because of it. I’ve come across a lot of fellow comrades who share the same spirit and attitude towards the world of film that I do; they have become my artistic family. The world is always going to have spare filmmakers, it will always hold an abundance of artists and perspectives; there will always be quality and unfavorable material. Frederick Cineasta Wolfe is a name by which to create, by which to leave my personal touch on the world.
